Jacksonville Heritage & History: Women of LaVilla

Incorporated in 1866 as an separate municipality, LaVilla is one of the oldest original suburbs of 19th century Jacksonville. Quickly developing into a multicultural community, the district would not have become a place of entertainment, music and business for Jacksonville's Black community if it were not for the significant contributions of women. With this in mind, the Jessie Ball duPont Fund and Ennis Davis of The Jackson Magazine present Jacksonville Heritage & History: Women of LaVilla.
