Sprouts Farmers Market is a Phoenix-based natural and organic grocery chain with 252 stores in 13 states. Established in 2002, Sprouts believes the U.S. market could support 1,200 of its stores, which employ 80 to 90 workers and average between 28,000 and 30,000 square feet. Sprouts touts itself as providing a grocery shopping experience that makes healthy living easy and affordable. Their neighborhood grocery stores offer fresh, natural and organic foods and products at affordable prices – and in a setting designed to feel like an old-fashioned farmers market. Word of the organic grocer setting its eyes on Tampa and Jacksonville date as far back to 2013. In October, Sprouts announced that it would expand into Florida in 2017 with the first store in Tampa. A location in Jacksonville could be on the way very soon.
