Lucky’s Market is a Boulder, Colorado-based organic and natural foods chain that has been called the “love child of Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s”. Established in 2003, the 22-store chain, which specializes in organic, natural, gluten-free foods and antibiotic and hormone free meat and fresh seafood, announced its intentions to expand into Florida in late 2015. On December 7, 2016, Lucky’s opened their first Jacksonville area location in Neptune Beach at 580 Atlantic Boulevard. At 34,500-square-feet, the store is smaller than the typical Publix or Winn-Dixie but significantly larger than the typical Trader Joe’s, Aldi or Earth Fare. Lucky’s plans to open at least nine additional stores in 2017 and has stated that an additional Jacksonville area store is a possibility.
