41. Hogans Creek Greenway - Phase II

Work continues on the extension of the Hogans Creek Greenway west of Liberty Street. When complete, this phase will extend the 12-foot shared use path from Liberty Street to 8th Street.

42. 348 East Third Street

Take 2 LLC is in the process of renovating a mixed use building at the intersection of 3rd & Walnut. The long abandoned 7,945-square-feet building was built in 1919.

43. 1101 North Main Street

1st & Main is in the process of being converted into a venue that will incorporate food, drinks and entertainment. Space is now available for lease.

44. The Cookbook Restaurant

Springfield resident Brandon Byers plans to open The Cookbook Restaurant at 1827 N. Pearl St. A recent Times-Union article states the restaurant will offer everything from burgers and fries to American soul food including shrimp and grits, and chicken and waffles. Interior improvements being made to the space include a dining room, lounge area and bar as well as a small stage for live entertainment.

45. Pediatric Associates

Pediatric Associates will be opening a new medical office at 1714 North Main Street.

46. Main & Sixth Brewing Company

Son/daughter combo Dennis Espinosa and Cindy Lasky have recently completed the redevelopment of 1636 Main Street into the Main & Sixth Brewing Company. Holding its grand opening on November 4, 2017, the 3,488 square foot brewery includes the sale and service of beer, wine, cider and mead for on-site consumption, and the sale and service of beer, wine, cider and mead for off-site consumption and distribution.

47. Dancy Terrace

Save Dancey LLC. plans to restore Dancy Terrace’s 24 historic bungalow houses. Dancy Terrace is located just east of Main Street between 9th and 10th Streets.

48. C.B. Dailey Villas (Eastside)

Construction continues on a 24-unit apartment building near the intersection of A. Philip Randolph Boulevard and 1st Street. The 3-story structure is being developed by Wealth Watchers, Inc., a Jacksonville-based non-profit.

49. Lower Eastside Drainage Improvements

The City of Jacksonville is in the process of investing $6.8 million to improve the drainage infrastructure in the Lower Eastside. This project will facilitate planned redevelopment and infill along the A. Philip Randolph corridor, just north of the Sports Complex.

50. Flour & Fig Bakehouse

Popular culinary proprietors Kurt and Allison D’Aurizio have signed a lease and will soon begin the buildout of Flour & Fig Bakehouse in the Historic Springfield neighborhood at 1715 Main Street. The 1,900 square foot space will have approximately 100 indoor and outdoor seats in a warm, casual atmosphere accentuated by exposed brick and creative lighting.
