Completed in 1924, the First Baptist Convention Building is notable for being the last office building in Downtown Jacksonville designed by Henry John Klutho. Abandoned decades ago and thought to be beyond preserving, JWB Real Estate believes otherwise. Recently acquiring the structure for $675,000, JWB intends to convert the building into a mixed-use facility, comprised of two future mercantile suites, restaurant spaces, and 24 studio and one-bedroom apartments. The project’s development team will seek Downtown Development Review Board Concept Approval on September 10, 2020. Here is a look at the development’s conceptual plans.
