Ascension St. Vincent’s will open a new hospital in St. Johns County on July 6 to serve one of the fastest-growing regions of the country.

The $175 million hospital, under construction since December 2020, will provide 56 beds, including eight in intensive care. A medical office building next to the hospital opened Monday.

The hospital is along Interstate 95 and County Road 210, at 205 Trinity Way.

Ascension said it chose the site after analyzing where hospital services were most needed. St. Johns County’s population grew 43% from 2010 to 2020, the hospital said.

Ascension also operates three other hospitals in Greater Jacksonville:

  • Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside, opened in 1916.
  • Ascension St. Vincent’s Southside, formerly St. Luke’s, 1873.
  • Ascension St. Vincent’s Clay County, 2013.
