The Jacksonville Landing - August 2020

It is too late to use the Jacksonville Landing for a number of cost efficient adaptive reuse opportunities that could have activated the heart of downtown overnight. Moving forward, no matter what the future plan for the property ends up being, it will cost taxpayers tens of millions more than the nearly $25 million already spent, to convert into a first class space that attracts people on a consistent basis. However, it should serve as an example of why adaptive reuse and utilizing our existing infrastructure and assets efficiently, are important to the revitalization of the downtown core.
