The Strand at Town Center will be a high-end project developed by Preferred Growth Properties, a subsidiary of Books-A-Million. This 45-acre mixed-use development will stretch along Town Center Parkway from Gate Parkway to the St. Johns Town Center, when complete in summer 2017. At build-out, it could include up 500,000 square feet of retail and commercial space, 100,000 square feet of office space, 400 hotel rooms and 500 multifamily residential units. Tenants announced include Hobby Lobby, Firebird’s Wood Fired Grill and Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen restaurant. Houston-based Stanmore Parnters also plans to construct a 347-unit apartment community at The Strand, called Ravella at Town Center Apartment Homes. To accommodate increasing traffic congestion, Preferred Growth Properties intends to add turn lanes, access points and a trail for pedestrians and cyclist along portions of Gate Parkway and Town Center Parkway.
