FDOT Press Release
Jacksonville – The extension of State Road 9B, a new four-lane interstate currently under construction in southern Duval County, is the subject of a public hearing scheduled for Monday (September 15).
Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) hosts the meeting at the Courtyard by Marriott, 14402 Old St. Augustine Road in Jacksonville, to discuss the extension of State Road 9B from Interstate 95 in Duval County to County Road 2209 in St. Johns County.
An informal ‘open house’ is planned from 4:30-6:30 p.m. followed by public comments at 6:30 p.m.
Construction of the proposed extension, estimated at $117 million, is tentatively scheduled to begin in late 2015.
State Road 9B, which eventually will become Interstate 795, opened last September between the I-295 East Beltway and U.S. 1. The second phase from U.S. 1 to I-95 is currently under construction and anticipated to open in summer 2016.
Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability or family status.
